Anthony David Gonzalez (born August 25 in 1970) is an American former football tight-end. Gonzalez played in the National Football League from 1997 through 2003. He is one of the NFL's most efficient tight ends as well as the third most effective overall receiver, he's been named the NFL's most effective tight end, in terms of yards received, receptions and receptions, among other things.
A former Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons All-Pro tight end Tony Gonzalez currently serves as a FOX Sports Studio analyst. Gonzalez is a regular presenter on FOX NFL KICKOFF since the NFL's 2017 season. The pregame program, lasting an hour, precedes FOX NFL Sunday on Sundays, at 11 AM ET during the NFL Season.
Gonzalez's assertion that he would retire from the NFL after 2013 is not the case. The 15th of March, 2013 Gonzalez signed with Falcons the two-year deal worth $14 million. Randy Moss' retirement meant that Gonzalez was the league's top player in active yards recieving the last time during his playing career.
